Can I redeem a gift card bought in US onto Canadian phone while still in US?

You’ll need to change the region of the phone and your Apple ID and use the US store. Before returning to Canada you’ll need to use all the gift card or you won’t be able to switch back to Canada as your region. Please review the Apple Support articles I linked below to learn how to change regions.
