Set up Epson WF-3640 scanner

Hello everyone! I have a problem with my AirPrint EPSON WF-3640 printer. When I set it in the mac settings, this appears to me:

But when I click add the button to start the scanner does not appear:

I would like to understand if there is any setting to activate or what you can do to use the built-in scanner in MacOS without having to download the Epson Scan software.

Thank you all!!

Once you add the scanner via AirPrint, you access the scanner via Apple's Image Capture (in your Applications folder) not through the Printers & Scanners panel. Do not have any USB cable connected between the Mac and the scanner when using AirPrint.

If the WF-3640 MFP is on, and the AirPrint configuration setup correct, then you should see an entry in the image capture sidebar for the scanner. I don't use a multi-function device here as my printer and scanner are separate devices that are configured into AirPrint.

I have different Wi-Fi SSIDs here on different networks and if I forget, my AirPrint devices won't be detected until I change the SSID to the network the AirPrint devices are configured too. As I mentioned earlier, you do not want the WF-3640 configured for AirPrint and also have a USB cable from it into your Mac, or that will disrupt AirPrint.
