This will not matter if you’re in a familiar location, such as home.
I tried all those steps but it didn't work. Tried to delete the fingerprint but it displayed a message saying "Touch id required. Authentication is required before you can delete a fingerprint". It also displayed a similar message for " add a fingerprint" and "turn off Stolen device protection".
Do I need to go to apple store?
You made two contradictory statements:
”All those steps” include the “Still not working?” steps - visiting an Apple Store or equivalent.
