iPad and phone won’t sync up to date photos and videos

I am trying to sync my iPhone and iPad for the past 2 days. There are 2 new videos on my iPad I cannot lose but not showing up on my phone. I have deleted lots of photos and videos on iPad to make space. These deleted photos and videos are still on my phone. My phone is saying it synced just now constantly when I refresh. I have turned both devices off several times and no joy. Please help

Are both devices updated to the most recent version of iPadOS/iOS? If not, ensure that you have updated to the most recent supported version.


Check that you have enabled Photos in iCloud on both devices - noting that both devices must be signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Photos >

  • Sync This iPad | iPhone - set to ON
  • Download & Keep Originals - select


Lastly, force-restart both your iPad and iPhone:
