Unable to open a saved file on my iPad

I have been reviewing a book in a word file and saving as I go along. I have been able to go back frequently into the file to continue working on it but now it now states "Can't Open File. Sorry something went wrong Defying the Odds edited copy.docx can't open". Can you please help me to find the file?

I have turned my iPad off and on, installed the up to date version and signed out of Microsoft and back in with No results.

As described, the file is likely to have been corrupted.

Given that the issue is with a Word document edited with the Microsoft Word for iPad App, you might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Microsoft Support.

Microsoft were pretty useless, a Microsoft app on an iPad creates issues when they go wrong. Apple very quick in diagnosing and said it was a Microsoft issue, Microsoft were not helpful as they do not understand an iPad and couldn’t screen share.

Did the issue persist? JLB

Hi Sally, have you solved this issue? I am experiencing the same thing on my iPad, certain files will now not open and say ‘sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later’. Thanks.
