I sent a payment through Apple Cash but recipient has not received.

I sent a friend some money through Apple Pay but after I used my finger print to pay it said that it failed. It doesn’t show up in our messages but it still took money from my card and said it was a completed transaction in my wallet even though my friend had not received it. I don’t mind if I get the money back or if my friend gets it, I just don’t want it lost in the middle of nothing.
