Apple Watch won’t connect

My Apple Watch died during pairing to my new phone and now my new phone won’t connect. My old phone is no longer paired to it so that isn’t the issue. I’ve tried updating my watch, restarting both devices, checked connections and nothing works. I tried resetting my watch but it won’t reset… when I hit confirm it takes me back to the reset screen.
