LaCie products bought on the Australian Apple site and warranty loopholes

Hi, just bought a couple of LaCie one big docks from the Australian apple offical site. When I got them a card slipped out saying the warranty would be handled by a third party and that would only be for a year. And thereafter it would be handled by LaCie/now Seagate. When I looked up the warranty on LaCie/seagate site, they say it’s a limited regional warranty which negates data retrieval and whole bunch of things. Really only covers the tin shell- retuned in its original packaging, and not the hard drive if it’s been tampered- but it’s a swappable drive. I bought thinking it was a legitimate way to purchase it, as LaCie and Apple have always been sold together. I bought it for the warranty and the swapable drive- but also for the dock- which does seem to have some warranty. This seems very dodgy. Apple just keeps moving the posts on its reliability. I’ve been using them for nearly 30 years. It’s not my first disappointment (a Mac Pro you can’t update the ram in!? I haven’t gone there)- and if I’m not correct in this assumption I’d be really glad for someone to set me straight.
