Language Change on iPhone 12

Suddenly my iPhone 12 language in Messenger has changed from English US to what I believe is Chinese. I am NOT able to figure out how to change it back to English US. I’ve went to Settings-Language Region and verified that the setting is English US first. I only have the problem within the Messenger App. Please advise or instruct me if anyone has found a fix for this issue. I’m an elderly person who is on a fixed budget and I’m not able to afford to take the phone to someone to “fix” this issue and I can’t afford a newer iPhone.
