why is my tiff preview showing only part of the image

Hi all, myself and some of my coworkers have been seeing this happen on a few tiff images. The tiff does show a preveiw thumbnail on the desktop or wherever, but quicklook will show an odd portion of the image, almost like a preview of it with a clipping path turned on that doesn't exist in the file (there is a clipping path, but as you will see in the embedded image it is of the whole thing not just the arms. Has anyone run into this issue and if so know of a way to fix it? See attached screenshots
