Random pausing and unpuasing in Logic Pro 10.8.1

Logic keeps pausing and unpausing when I record and playback audio. I've reset all drivers, MIDI, plugins, and preferences. I have noticed that it only happens when my audio interface is connected. I have tried multiple Audio Interfaces, and they are all the same. I'm running an M2 13' 2022 MacBook Pro with eight gigs of RAM (Small, ik) and a UAV Volt 2 audio interface. This doesn't happen when Logic isn't open, so I've ruled out the possibility of it being a hardware issue. It also doesn't happen when the audio interface isn't connected but Logic is open. I've tried many things at this point, and I honestly have never seen this issue online. I've asked a couple of friends what they think, but they are stumped. It's a pain cuz I can't record vocals, guitar, or anything else I have. Not to mention, it's a tough time listening back to stuff, too. Also, just a note: I am running full default settings for Logic, except for the input and output, which is the Volt 2 (obviously) and all of my projects are on an external USB thumb drive. Just posting to see if anyone has even the slightest idea of whats going on/ if anyone can help.
