Trouble setting up car play microphone

Have put in CarPlay on a new stereo but the microphone isn’t working, have looked at the trouble shooting on this page but on one it says to go into settings and into the microphone and make sure it’s switched on for CarPlay, but CarPlay isn’t on the list in my microphone section, how do I add it please?

Car/Carplay mic issue 2019 Honda Civic, iPhone 13 Pro (iOS 17) and aftermarket CarPlay unit. Prior to the new CarPlay unit, I was having the same issue. When I try to use any voice function connected to the car via Bluetooth, it will not work (speech to text, Siri, etc) but the microphone works fine for making calls and voice commands from my car still work fine. I am just unable to use the hands free voice commands for Siri and texting on CarPlay since it’s all voice prompts through Siri. I get the pop up for Siri and prompts but when I speak it doesn’t register. I tested the microphone by calling and it works fine for calls or my cars native voice command prompt system. I have disconnected, reconnected and restarted everything multiple times. I hoped this CarPlay unit (being its own unit) would not have this same issue. There may a setting disabled I’m not aware of but I’ve tried checking everything.

How to resolve disappearing voiceover results in Final Cut Pro? Tried to record a voiceover in FCPX and I have tried every microphone I have and it shows that it is recording the sound but when I click end voiceover, the whole voiceover result disappears. I’ve played with the settings, tried different microphones, even creating a new event and project to try and it’s the same result. The voiceover disappears. Last time this happened I had to reboot the whole app and have it forget my preferences and it worked. This time after the reboot, it still didn’t work. Can’t use my phone for calls or anything, have installed the stereo correctly and by the instruction manual, everything works but the microphone, but thanks

There is no setup for a microphone for CarPlay. This is because CarPlay uses the microphone that may be installed in your car. This is the same microphone that you would use to while on a phone call when your iPhone is connected to CarPlay. You may want to investigate on the support pages of the manufacturer of your new stereo.
