Final Cut Pro , A/V output: none found

I have been using my 2020 IMAC for years for Final Cut Pro movie editing. Never had a problem.

This morning I started a new project and I noticed that I could not hear audio of my clips.

I checked the A/V output and saw "none found".

Technical details ;

  • iMac 3.8GHz 8 core intel Core i7 with retina built in display.
  • macOS Ventura.
  • Final Cut version 10.7.1

Really would appreciate your help.

Thanks Benjamin

As already noted, this has nothing to do with A/V Output.

Please post a screenshot of your timeline. Are there any audio waveforms there?

If not, then what probably happened is that you may have accidentally switched to Video Only (Shift-2 is the shortcut). In this situation, when you add a clip to the timeline, only video is used.

Press Shift-1 (or choose Edit->Souce Media->All) to go back to using video and audio.

This, however, won’t change what is already in the timeline. You can fix this by selecting each clip, Shift-F to reveal in browser, and replace.
