Using handwritten notes search function in Apple Notes

Hello,

So, as I continue on my quest to build a hybrid note-taking model, I'm back to using Apple Notes to capture scans of my analog notepad. In doing so, I've come across a few things that I'm hoping those of you here with way more knowledge about the intricacies of these things can help me with.

Let me start by saying that I'm hoping for the same experience as when you shoot a picture of your notes as just a regular photograph that gets loaded into Apple Photos. If you've never tried this, it is impressive how well the search function works when you search given words in photos of handwritten notes.

I've found that Apple Notes isn't quite on par with Apple Photos, which makes no sense to me as one would think they use similar, if not the exact same, algorithms. Regardless, one thing that makes the search in Apple Photos so great is that the app will bring you right to the word and even put a highlighted box around the exact word in the scanned note. For some reason, this is NOT the case in Apple notes, however.

Does anyone have any idea how I might fix this, or is it something that is literally a different system for whatever reason?
