Password Incorrect for the Exchange account

Since Jan 23, I have had the "Password Incorrect for the Exchange account" error popup every time I try to use my phone app on Apple 14 pro IOS 17.3.1. Our IT team advised to delete and reconnect the account. I have reconnected the account. Now I get the error and my Exchange contacts are not synchronized.

I have a sim card from Bell and an e-sim from from Bell. Contacts are all on Exchange.

I'm not sure what to do next. I am thinking about removing the sim and starting over. I have spent hours scouring the net and nothing that I have found has worked.

Thank you for the advice. Not the problem, but got me going in the right direction. Instead of putting the password in the dialogue box, I went into the account and entered the password. I got an "unable to authorize" notification. I created a new contact on the computer and the phone. The contacts synced in Exchange, but they still were not available in the phone app. Not a problem with exchange?

I accesses the Outlook for IOS account and added "download contacts to phone" along with the sync. This fixed all of the problems. I checked the account log in and was successful. I believe it is either a new bug in Outlook for IOS or the phone app.

I understand that the sim card has nothing to do with the contacts. The ever-so-helpful folks on the interweb do not know that. That is why I specifically noted that contacts are on exchange.

I have tried both the exchange password as well have tried to put the current authenticator code in as password. Neither work.

To be clear, the mail and calendar are synchronizing. The contacts are not. Just the phone app on apple is not working.
