Hi, I have a problem with a Ricoh MP C3004 multifunction printer that I have on the network (via LAN cable): I can't use the scan to folder to the shared folder that I created on my iMac with Sonoma via SMB. How do I configure it to work?

If you are not using Image Capture, please do! It is pre-installed on your computer and it will allow you to select the destination for your scans. If you are using a Ricoh app to scan, then please contact Ricoh for support on their product.

yes, I import the scan from the preview app without any problems, but since the printer is not nearby, it is more convenient for me to scan from the printer itself via scan to folder via SMB. when I scan it gives me a connection error, as if something was blocking access to the Mac, preventing the file from being sent.

I use the Scanne app in the printer itself, where I configured the address of the shared folder (smb) and the username and password of the account on the Mac in the address book
If you are scanning from the printer/scanner device and you cannot select the destination of where the scan "lands" then you need to speak to the administrator of the printer and ask them where they have the scan set up to land and then show you how to navigate there from your Mac. This has NOTHING to do with the operation of the Mac, Mac OS or the device itself, it is simply an administrative issue you need to solve in your place of work.
If the admin setup the device correctly for each user, then they created a scan folder for each user. You will simply need to know how to navigate to that destination. Once you have that then it's a simple matter of creating a shortcut (I'd put that on the Finder Sidebar) to that destination, so ever time you scan, head back to your computer, click the shortcut and voila there is you scan!

As mentioned, this has NOTHING to do with your Mac or Mac OS. You need to speak to the printer's administrator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
