Apple Ultra 2 Cellular Connectivity

Why is it that the new Apple Watch Ultra 2 will only work to make and receive phone calls when the watch is out of range of the I-phone is to have turned off the WiFi mode and Bluetooth mode on the I-phone? That is the only way we are able to get the Ultra 2 to be able to make and send phone calls when out of its paired I-phone range.

I understand that you are unable to make phone calls, on your Apple Watch Ultra 2, is by disconnecting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the iPhone even when the watch is out of range of the iphone.

I believe that you may be out of Bluetooth range from your iPhone, however may not be out of the connected Wi-Fi range on your Apple Watch. What you mentioned can happen if the Apple Watch is in a Wi-Fi range and will attempt to connect to a known Wi-Fi Network first before connecting to the cellular network.

For a test, leave your iPhone at home and drive out and away from your home until you are out of your home’s Wi-Fi Network range. Ensure that your Apple Watch is now automatically connected to the cellular network. Try and make a call with your Apple Watch.
