Apple Music fails during playback on Mac

songs played on imusic play for 8 seconds then quit playing unexpectedly for no reason. then I hit play button the song continues were it left off for another 8 seconds then stops again.

3 hours on phone wit apple support and reinstalling OS did not solve the issue.
