Attempting to use Canon iP4300 Pixma Photo Printer on iMac Catalina

Canon stopped updated their drivers for catalina and beyond, so I can't download the driver. I thought ALL drivers were included in Mac OSX, did that change? I have this nice photo printer and it is not recognizable on my iMac. The latest downloadable driver from Canon is the version before Catalina.

Is there a way I can use to use this printer?

Thank you.

Hi,

Unfortunately, as you have discovered, macOS 10.15 Catalina drivers for this printer model do not appear to be available from Canon (nor from Apple).

Experimental Gutenprint drivers seem to exist for the iP4300, but it is unknown whether these are compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina.

Generally speaking, be careful on the Internet. There are several dubious third-party "support" sites, often with misleading names. Make sure that you download drivers from an official web site of the printer manufacturer, or from another trustworthy source such as Apple.

If you have an older, compatible Mac, it could possibly be an alternative solution. If applicable, files could be transferred between Macs via a network.

Also, if nothing else works, there are Windows 8.1/8/7/Vista/XP/2000 iP4300 printer drivers from Canon, so a PC may be used as well.
