iCloud Photos syncing paused, Not enough iPhone Storage

I’m currently using iPhone 12 Pro 256GB at the moment. I’ve used up to 255.16GB of storage which made me decide to buy the 200GB storage of iCloud to store my 199.7GB of photos. I started to enable it to free up my iPhone storage but it turns up to display “syncing paused, not enough iPhone storage”. What are the solutions I can try for the problem I’m experiencing? Please do provide me full details on how I can deal with it. Appreciate the time mate.

You can elect to optimize your photos storage so that they take up less space on your device. Settings > Photos.

Photos do not offload to iCloud. The space on your device is fixed and cannot be increased.

You may need to delete some items to free enough space for your device sync to work.
