changed my apple id on itunes and not it does not recognize my ipod. How do I fix this?

what should I do if all the apple id info was forgotten? I have this old Ipod from when I was younger and when I got it to turn on again its asking for the old apple id. The problem is no one knows what happened to it. Is there some way to change apple id's or am I screwed?

I can't use my Apple ID on my iPod 5th Gen Some time ago I changed my Apple ID for my iPad. However, my iPod keeps asking me to sign in but on my previous Apple ID. I can't change the old email it is using, and it doesn't recognise either my old password or my new one. I still works, but I can't download any apps (even ones I bought previously) and the box asking me to sign in keeps popping up all the time. I have tried to connect to iTunes but it says there is an unrecognised iPod and I need to sign in - which I can't do! How can I sort this out? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

iPod version 9.3.5 I've changed BOTH my Apple ID and my password. My iPod is still showing the old ID, AND I do not remember the old password. When I go to Settings on the iPod, the iCloud account still shows the old ID next to my name and the icon. When I tap <name, ID> under iCloud, the next screen shows "Apple ID" and the old ID. When I tap "Contact Information", the next screen shows the icon and my name at the top with the new ID. I cannot sign in to iTunes from the iPod because it's linked to the old ID and old password. I cannot "Sign Out" of the iPod as advised in previous threads, because it wants the old password. I would very much appreciate advice! How can I get my current Apple ID and associated password onto this iPod?
