App issues with IOS 17.3.1

Since installing IOS17.3.1 on my iPhone 12 mini I’ve had two app changes that I seriously dislike. First, the Spotify App can’t seem to play through the correct device: if I have wired earphones it recognises these but sometimes does not play, if I take them out it recognises the phone speakers are where sound should come out but will not play. Yes, I checked the volume. It only works after fully closing and restarting the app. I’m getting similar issues with playing music via Bluetooth using the Spotify app in my cars (both Mazdas). None of these problems existed before the IOS update.

Another app change since the update is the Outlook email notifications only show *that* a message has come in rather than giving any details of the sender or subject line. This is annoying because I have no preview of whether an email is important or trivial, which means I have to open the app and look whenever there’s a notification.

I’m just putting these gripes on here in case anyone else is having them, knows a solution, or it can alert Apple or the app developers to look into this.

Updated iPhone 15 MAX to 17.3.1 blah blah we're all having the same problems. This is what I had to do to fix it.

Using a desktop or laptop, go to iCloud online >> track my phone>> delete information on phone. (DO NOT delete phone from your account, just delete the data on the phone). It's ask you about reporting it as lost... NO don't do that.

Next, get the cable you received when you bought your phone. You'll need to plug this into your computer (MAC preferable, but it works with PC).

On your phone >> press volume up button quickly (like a tap fast), then immediately do the same with the volume down button, then press and hold the right button until the phone shuts down.

At the same time, using the cable that came with your phone, plug into your computer.

Follow the prompts to restore your phone to the factory settings.

Your iPhone would have backup prior to the ios update.

When your phone has downloaded all the basics, you'll see the "Hello" message in various languages (like when you first got the iPhone).

Eventually you'll be asked use iCloud to restore your phone, or a different "i" device. Follow the prompts and everything will be downloaded from iCloud.

You'll have to reenter your credit /debt cards' CVV codes to use them with ApplePay.

It'll take a while to continue to restore, depending on your connection and how much data is on your phone.

Next, you may have to update your SIM. If you have an eSIM, the next step will suck even more.

You'll have to get in touch with your carrier and they'll have to issue you a new digital eSIM. It's a 20-digit-code you'll get (or they'll mail you a QR code if you want). If your carrier has a 24/7 online chat set up, you can do it that way. Hope this helps.

First time this has happened to me with any of my Apple devices. For now, they get a pass. But they need to figure out a solution because obvs this update has caused serious problems for a lot of people.

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. App issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors.

I updated my iPhone to iOS 17.3.1 and now my phone is locked with the "Software Update Your iPhone has been updated to iOS 17.3.1" and no matter what I do, I can't get the screen to go and allow me to reboot or enter my pin to access my phone. This is so frustrating. I tried support provided the device number, and then amazing, I'm disconnected. I'm lucky I had my old phone to insert my SIM into, and am so angry. I won't be updating software in the future, too much hassle, and can't see how to fix it online, so will need to go to Vodafone or iPhone store this week to hopefully resolve the issue. **** PHONE !!
