Given its age, it almost certain that the battery will have reached the end of its usable life - and failed.
The iPad1 is fully obsolete. Apple does not offer repair or battery replacement for this and many other older models of iPad. Also consider that battery failure will result in loss of all locally stored data and installed Apps from the App Store.
App Developers have dropped all support for 32-bit devices. All 32-bit Apps have been retired and removed from the App Store. As such, you’ll not be able to (re)download or install them. Even if you are able to obtain a third-party battery replacement, lack of usable Apps will severely limit the usefulness and utility of your iPad1.
You might try finding a third-party repairer wherever you happen to be - but many would suggest that spending any money on an iPad that has little or no utility would be a waste of money.
Far better to put the cost of a replacement battery towards a much newer supported iPad model.
