iPod Classic (Click Wheel) won't show music on MacBook Pro running Monterey

I'd like to move some music from my old click wheel iPod Classic on to my MacBook Pro. I've tried putting it in disk mode but all I see is an empty Recordings folder. There is definitely music on this iPod, when I open the iPod in Music all the songs show but I can't move them over to the MacBook Pro.

Can anyone help with this?

trouble syncing/loading music from macbook catalina to ipod classic ever since i upgraded my macbook to catalina, i have had so much trouble loading/syncing new music from it to my classic ipod. i will buy a song from amazon or itunes or will load a song from an old cd. when i try to put it on my ipod, it doesn't work by just dragging it to the ipod icon. i find myself dragging it all over, to my desktop & then the icon, clicking it multiple times, deleting it & reloading it, etc. anyone else have this problem? can anyone give me easy instructions for putting new music on my classic ipod via my macbook with catalina?

Can I sync an iPod Nano 7th Gen with Apple Music on a MacBook Air OS Monterey? My humble iPod shows up in the sidebar of the Apple Music app on my MacBook air, but when I click Sync Settings and choose either Entire Music Library or Selected Music, Albums, (etc), a diagonal striped progress bar at the bottom of the page moves to the right but never results in being able to click the Sync button on the bottom of the page to sync the iPod with my music library. Oh, and the iPod in the sidebar has a black circle next to it, not the little eject icon. Thanks.
