Unable to Detect External WiFi Devices for Debugging in Android Studio on MacBook Pro
I recently transitioned to a MacBook Pro M3 Pro running macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 from a Windows laptop, where I have been using Android Studio for the past 10 years. In the MacBook version of Android Studio, I'm encountering an issue with the device debugging feature over WiFi. Specifically, the IDE is not detecting any external devices over WiFi, even though the same setup worked flawlessly on my Windows machine.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Android Studio on MacBook Pro.
- Connect external devices, such as the Swan 1 POS system, to the MacBook Pro via WiFi.
- Attempt to detect and debug connected devices using Android Studio's WiFi debugging feature.
Affected Devices:
- MacBook Pro M3 Pro (macOS Sonoma 14.3.1)
- External devices, e.g., Swan 1 POS system
Additional Information:
I have explored various online solutions and troubleshooting steps, including:
- Checking network connectivity and permissions.
- Verifying that the devices are on the same network.
- Restarting Android Studio and the MacBook Pro.
- Ensuring the necessary USB drivers are installed.
Despite these efforts, Android Studio on my MacBook Pro does not recognize any external devices over WiFi. This issue is not specific to the Swan 1 device; no external devices are being detected.
Any insights or guidance from the community on resolving this WiFi debugging limitation on MacBook Pro would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance!
