Voicemail never setup voicemails taken

3 years ago my phone number was changed on one carrier and I chose to not setup voicemail. Then I got a VM indicator on my iPhone. I contacted the carrier and went round and round with them swearing they weren’t taking vm since I had not set it up or given them permission to take VM. They insisted Apple was doing it. I escalated this issue to the highest level. the response was every time that Apple was engaging in this unethical behavior not them!

I sent multiple reports through feedback demanding they stop taking VM because they didn’t have my permission. They stopped. Then it started again.

I switched to another carrier over this issue- and it stopped for about 2 weeks then started happening again. I contacted the new carrier (already knowing the answer would be stunned silence and we are not doing it because we do not have your permission to do it.). I escalated it at the new carrier to get the same response-

we are very sorry this is happening but you do not have voicemail setup on this phone number, it MUST be Apple.

for almost 3 years I have been battling with people leaving me messages I cannot access on a voicemail NEVER setup! I’ve switched carriers and it continues to happen.

This is NOT the carrier(s) doing it. THIS IS APPLE TAKING VOICEMAILS WITHOUT PERMISSION ON MY OHONE NUMBER REPEATEDLY!!!

This is NOT acceptable!!!

IDK how to stop it. After feedback it will stop and then usually with an update it will randomly start again. In order to access the voicemails I have a message that literally says to access your voicemail please setup your voicemail- (in writing) so Apple is taking messages on my behalf, WITHOUT my authorization, storing them God knows where and then demanding I setup vm to access them-

HOW DO WE STOP THIS PRIVACY VIOLATION???

Well no one here can help you as again, we are ALL users here just like you.

I fail to see however, this is a violation of your privacy. Apple isn't storing your voicemail. Apple cannot listen to your voicemail. Only you can listen to your voicemail. Oh and of course YOUR CARRIER can listen to your voicemail as voicemail messages are stored on your CARRIERS side. Not Apple's side.

If you accidentally ever deleted a voicemail message. Your carrier has the ability to restore it. NOT APPLE.

I wish you well, but I won't respond again if you care to write back.
