Screen Time

What is the point in screen time when my child can just go to settings and change the screen time passcode without needing any kind of password from me? How does that even make sense? Am I missing something? I have used her phone (iPhone 14 Pro Max) myself and gone to change the passcode I set up and it didn't even ask me for my original passcode. It just asked me what I want the new one to be so that is how she has been getting around it. It would be helpful if a phone is listed as a child's phone with screen time settings enabled with a passcode, there should be some kind of block that keeps her from accessing the screen time passcode change feature on her phone. Is there a setting I am missing?

That's not the way it works. The only way to change screen time passcode is if you know the existing one.

If he doesn't know it, he may be able to use your Apple ID to change it, but then, the question is why doe she know your Apple Id password. Not something he should know. Nor something that should be added to the devices he is using.

She does not know my password and I am literally holding her phone in my hand right now and will walk through the steps.

Settings > Family > "Childs Name" > Screen Time. Scroll to the bottom where it says "Change Screen Time Passcode" and a pop up comes up with the options to: "Change Screen Time Passcode" or "Turn Off Screen Time Passcode" neither of which are asking for a password or passcode to change or turn off.
