lost voice memos

Hi I just noticed that a large amount of very important voice memos are missing an all my devices! from March 2022-August 2023. My icloud back up has always been on on all devices and the deleted folder if set to 'never delete' I did upgrade my phone in Aust 2023 and with that updated my iTunes. I have since listened to some recordings from early 2023 so I'm confused as to where they are? Can anyone please help? Thank you!

When Voice Memo synchronization is activated on iCloud, your recordings are seamlessly transferred to the iCloud platform, utilizing your Apple ID credentials for this process. It's crucial to note that the data synchronized to iCloud does not constitute a backup stored within iCloud. In the event that you decide to alter your Apple ID on the device, a notable consequence follows: the Voice Memos data previously synced to iCloud will be purged from your device. This removal persists until you re-establish a connection with the device using the original Apple ID associated with the Voice Memos in question. This underscores the importance of maintaining consistency with your Apple ID to ensure the preservation and accessibility of your synchronized Voice Memos data on iCloud.

Thanks for youre reply, Im not sure I fully understand?. My apple ID is the same, I transferred all data from my old device to my new phone August 2023, my old phone was restored to factory I believe and is now being used by my son. Is there a way I can recover the lost data? all my devices, imac, iPad and phone were/are all set to 'back up to cloud' for voice memos ?

Do you know where that back up could be? They weren't all lost at the time of syching my old phone in August as I've since listened to one, could it be a software update?
