Sound to alert text received

I have an iPad 10th generation and want to know how to turn on sound to alert me when I receive texts

iPad, iPadOS 16

From iPad settings:

Settings > Sounds > Text Tone - select as required

Settings > Notifications > [Notification Style] Messages > Allow Notifications - set to ON

Set other delivery and alert parameters as required:
