Apple Pencil exchange

I won an iPad gen 10 and Apple Pencil 2 through my university. When I went to pair the pencil it wouldn’t work. I looked it up and I need the USB-C pencil. Would I be able to exchange the pencil for the one I need?

Apple Pencil with wrong generation I have bought an Apple Pencil Pro a few days ago and now that I opened and tried to pair it I've found out that it's not compatible with my device (iPad Pro 12.9). I haven't used the pencil yet and the pen hasn't been paired to any device so far; can I exchange it with an older generation (namely Apple Pencil 2nd Generation)? everything including the pen itself and the box is intact.

Trading an Apple Pencil in… So I have gotten a 2nd gen Apple Pencil, and at first my iPad did not connect with it, so now I have bought the 10th gen iPad only to learn it doesn’t connect with this iPad either. So my question is, if I have had this Apple Pencil for over 14 month, and it has never been used, would I be able to trade it in store for the 1st gen Apple Pencil that would work with this iPad.
