Airpods pro max stopped working after one year

Ive done the factory reset, charged them, and put them in the case in all different orders. Ive had these for exactly one year. None of it is working. Please help.

Apple support's online article: Connect and use your AirPods Max - Apple Support

says:

"make sure that the device that you want to pair is up to date."

Eg: iPhone: About iOS 17 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 17.3.1 is the latest version.


NB: If your device has the newest update installed, the AirPods firmware can automatically update.

The factory reset was a good thing to try. Since it hasn't solved the issue: wondering if this is the method you used to reset your AirPods Max: How to reset your AirPods Max - Apple Support

You may want to make sure nothing (a speck of dirt or wax) is blocking any openings:

Cleaning AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and EarPods - Apple Support

Could the volume be set so low it appears the AirPods Max are not working ?

Eg: Scroll to "Listen and control audio with your AirPods Max" in the article (link below)

Connect and use your AirPods Max - Apple Support

and

Customize headphone audio levels on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

or

Could it be the audio settings on iPhone / iPad / Mac / PC / Android device need adjusting

Eg: Adjust the mono audio, balance, and phone noise cancellation settings on iPhone

Adjust audio settings on iPhone - Apple Support
