Disk not ejected properly

Satechi hub with 1GB sata SSD for Mac mini running OS Sonoma keeps notifying Disk not ejected properly. The SSD is in the hub and I guess is recognized as an external drive. I didn't have this problem with Ventura or other OS systems. is there a configuration fix?

External SSD only works when plugged into a USB hub, not directly into MacBook Air Recently I bought a SanDisk portable SSD. At first, I thought it was DOA. My M2 MacBook Air couldn't read it, and when I tried to initialize it (erase & format it either via Disk Utility or Terminal), it gave an error message and failed. Eventually it stopped showing up anywhere in the UI altogether. However, I've since found that when I splice in my USB hub and plug it into that, it works perfectly. Same MacBook port, same cord plugged into the drive, the only thing I'm adding is the USB hub in between. Any ideas what's wrong and what I can do to fix it? This works, but it's annoying having to daisy chain two pieces of hardware rather than just plugging in directly. Plus, I just don't like the idea that something is broken. Thanks! External SSD notification My 2021 14" MacBook Pro, running Ventura 13.2.1 is giving me a message telling me the "Disk was not properly ejected". Disk is a SanDisk 2TB SSD. I didn't touch the external drive. It's connected as it always has been. I've seen this problem discussed in other threads, which I am unable to reply to. Any updates to this issue?

New external SSD not recognized on Ventura on Mac OS New external SSD not recognized on Ventura. Disk utility does not show it. Works fine on Monterey however Diskutil info (command i ) reports Solid State : no (!) on the 2 different SSDs I have. (minor bug). Reports writeable:no, available space(purgeable + Free):0, and used ... as there is a physical Volume occupying all space. AppleCare with remote assist using Monterey system determined that the disk needed to be formatted guid. Used Monterey system and disk utility to format. A one TB disk takes several minutes to format. Monterey Time Machine successfully created a back on it. Unmounted from Monterey, connected to Ventura but it is not recognized.
