Wondering if your iPhone has enough free memory / storage space in which to operate!
Eg: An iPhone needs at least 8Gb free in which to do what you ask it to do.
See: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
If you are short on storage space: It is a wise idea to back-up your data before making space available. : Eg: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
Then see: "Manage space on your iPhone" in the article below for tips:

Else if storage space is not-a-problem:
There may be third-party (non-Apple) apps that cause issues:
Eg: virus-checkers, ad-blockers, cleaners and the like, even VPN, often cause problems.
There are generally all un-neccessary, so may need to be removed.
Any necessary third-party apps may need updating to remain compatible with your iPhone.
