Scam ad freezes search app on my iPhone

iPhone froze on search page with scam pop-up: “Warning! Apple device is infected with viruses picked up while surfing recent corrupted sites. Tap OK and follow the instructions to protect your Apple devices.”

Neither the X or the back arrow work.

How to escape this page??

How to close an app

From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.
Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.
Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.
