iPhone 13 volume button and silent toggle switch not working

A couple of weeks ago the toggle switch on my phone suddenly stopped working, and while the switch itself was in silent mode, the phone turned itself on ringer mode. Found a way to silence it in settings, no problem. Today however, only the button to raise my volume suddenly stopped working. Today is also the day I downloaded 17.3.1, but the events occurred a few hours apart. Possibly it happened because of the update? Can anyone suggest why this might be? I’ve tried working both buttons without a case to no avail, and restarting the phone. They also don’t look to have any junk in them building up.

iOS updates generally aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Ringer and Volume issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors.
