Timer makes no sound
My wife experienced the Timer in the Clock app making no sound when the time elapsed. This was an iPhone7 running iOS 15.8. I finally realized that the problem involved Auto-Lock in Settings->Display & Brightness having the same duration as the Timer. Both were 5 minutes. This is a bug, easily reproduced.
Work-arounds include
- set Auto-Lock to a duration unlikely to be the same as the Timer;
- establish a habit of locking the display manually after starting the Timer; or
- use Siri to start the Timer without unlocking the display.
