Is the mac able to function?

Fozen?

Force Quit a restart?

You can always force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 sec.

Force Shut down your Mac.

Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac

verify your >System Settings>Accessibility Contrast slider

if it is a display failure plug in an external monitor to test...

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
