My iPhone does not notify me when someone calls

My phone does not notify me when someone calls, even if I am playing on my phone. Is this a setting that I need to change? I have checked that Do Not Disturb is off, and haptics are on in ring and silent mode along with silence unknown callers being off, but sometimes I look over at the last second, and my phone will have a silent call on the screen. I have also noticed that the Phone notification pops up, saying that I missed a call. It’s on my 11. My brother has had the same issue. It’s mainly when my dad is trying to call from a state prison.

Some of the reasons are listed below which may silence your calls

  1. DND status
  2. Bed Time schedule
  3. Call Audio Routing method
  4. Ringer Volume level
  5. Call Forwarding to another number
  6. Silence Unknown Callers [Enable] Calls status : Only numbers in Contacts, Mail, and Messages ring your phone. All others are diverted to VM
  7. Have you done any of these; decline a call and send it directly to voicemail, by doing one of the following:
    1. If iPhone is unlocked, tap Decline.
    2. If iPhone is locked, press the side button or Sleep/Wake button (depending on your model) twice quickly.
    3. On your EarPods, press and hold the center button until you hear two low beeps.
    4. To be reminded to return the call, tap Remind Me, then choose when you want to be reminded.
    5. To respond with a text message instead of answering, tap Message, then choose a reply or tap Custom.
    6. To create your own default replies, go to Settings > Phone > Respond with Text, then tap any default message and replace it with your own text.
    7. Block unwanted callers: In Favorites, Recents, or Voicemail, tap  to see a caller’s contact card, then tap Block this Caller. Or go to Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts. You don’t receive voice calls, FaceTime calls, or text messages from blocked callers. All are diverted to Voicemail

If you're experiencing delayed call notifications on your iPhone, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check for iOS updates: Go to Settings > General > Software Update to ensure your iPhone has the latest software version installed.

2. Restart your iPhone: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.

3. Reset network settings: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN settings.

4. Check Do Not Disturb mode: Make sure you haven't enabled Do Not Disturb mode accidentally. You can check this by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen to open Control Center. If the crescent moon icon is highlighted, tap it to turn off Do Not Disturb mode.

5. Check notification settings for the Phone app: Go to Settings > Notifications > Phone and ensure that Allow Notifications is enabled and other notification settings are configured as desired.

6. Disable and re-enable notifications: Go to Settings > Notifications, select the Phone app, and toggle off "Allow Notifications." Then, toggle it back on after a few seconds.

7. Reset all settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Note that this will reset all settings to their defaults, but your data and media will remain intact.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, it's recommended to contact Apple Support for further assistance.
