Folder naming is not accepting Unicode characters.

I'm having trouble running an application with a folder name that has special Unicode characters. Whenever I try to open the application, I receive an error message saying "The application can't be opened". Does anyone know why macOS doesn't allow Unicode characters in folder names?

What is this app? Have you contacted the people who make it? What do they say?

Can you copy/paste the folder name or post a screen shot here? MacOS normally does allow all kinds of characters in file names, but sometimes other platforms use a different normalization form of Unicode which can cause problems.
