My app icons have disappeared but the notification badges are still there, how do I fix this?

This morning I tried to launch Facebook messenger, but it kept crashing, so I tried shutting down my phone and restarting. When restarting things went a little wonky, but eventually it shut down. When I restart it, this is what my home screen looked like. (photo). I can still access the apps, but I can’t see them at all. A few days ago I updated my iOS to 17.3.1 on my iPhone 11.

what do I do?
