How can I know if an Apple Email message I send is received? NOTE: I have updated my OS to 14.3.1, and I have followed all of the instructions I could find (two), but I have been unable to do this.

You cannot. Receipts are not a feature Mail offers.
I think you're right. That's curious because there are sites that claim to offer the instructions for Apple Mail. There are also people, not only you, who say that Apple Mail does not have this feature. Even the Apple technician I talked to less than an hour ago promised to call me back with the instructions. (From the first, he was confident that Apple has this capability, and he was surprised when he couldn't find it right away) Strange.
