Since the upgrade to Sonoma my mac has been freezing randomly every few minutes and then recovers in a few seconds

I upgrade my Mac Studio to Sonoma in mid December and pretty much right away I started encountering the performance issues that many other people did. Most of them were related to Google Chrome. After the few updates from Apple and Google thankfully that problem has been resolve. However, I am still having this performance issue with the Mac where my entire screen freezes, no mouse or keyboard input registers for about 10 seconds, then it recovers. This happens more if I have a Google Meet session going on or some video is play or some other application is running. I looked in the Activity Monitor and the only thing that seems odd is that the "lsd" process is taking up 99.6% of the CPU time. Any insights into how to debug this issue? What logs can I look at?

As I was writing this post it froze 2 times. This is terrible, I hate this Mac but I know it's not the hardware, it's Apple doing something awefull with their upgrades.

please note— lsd provides various services for CoreServices frameworks. It is not

meant to be invoked directly and it must not be terminated.

verify you have adequate free storage space on your drive.

unplug all non-essential third party peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most* extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
