Final Cut Pro X won't let me import some files

I have tried importing a video file to edit it in FCPX but it seems that I can't select it while I am in the import menu, also can't drag and drop it in library.

The file is an .mkv and it's a screen recording I've made with OBS tool.

I can upload other .mkv files but not this one.

Anybody knows what's going on as it's driving me crazy? Thanks!

What Tom said, and... if you have to handle these type of files frequently, it may be worth installing ffmpeg. This has the advantage of being able to go from mkv to mp4, without needing to reencode the file. Basically is just changing the container.

But you also said that this is a screen recording that you made... so consider opting for mp4 straight out of OBS, and avoid this problem in the future.
