Wireless Recording with iPhone 12 and QuickTime: Seeking Community Insight

Dear Apple Community,

I am seeking a way to record both video and audio using my iPhone 12 and QuickTime Player without needing to physically connect my phone to my computer (an Apple MacBook Air M2 with 16GB RAM running Sonoma 14.2.1, in my case) via a charging cable.

Most online resources, including blogs and forums, suggest that a wired connection is necessary. However, there have been instances where I was able to open QuickTime and, somehow, the recording feature from my phone was available without any physical connection. Unfortunately, I cannot replicate this scenario consistently, even when my phone and computer are on the same WiFi network.

Could anyone here guide me on how to achieve recording via my iPhone using QuickTime without a wired connection to my computer?
