Is there a way to disable the sound that is made when you mute while on a call? I take a decent amount of conference calls for my job and when I mute my microphone, the other people on the call often hear the beep that plays when you mute.
On regular phone calls, the mute button does not send warning beeps. Are you using a particular app to make the conference calls? If YES, then try using another app and test. Are you using a Bluetooth or a connected microphone? If YES, then it may be generating that beep to warn you that you are on mute.

Just the phone app that is built into the phone. When you mute your microphone while on a call it definitely makes a sound. Often times the sound that it makes get picked up from the microphone before the mute actually activates. I have heard it myself while on calls from others as well.
