AirPods not showing the right battery percentage

When my airpods are outside the charging case, they show the real battery to the iPhone (imagine 20%) but, when I put them back to the charging case, they show “95-100%”.

What can it be?

Why are my AirPods showing incorrect battery percentage? In sure this is because they went through a wash cycle. AirPods are not showing the correct battery percentage on the panel that pops up when connecting. The panel will flash that the case is at 70% and then immediately say it’s at 0%, but the earbuds themselves seem to not be having this issue. Airpods and Widget The widget on my phone is showing the wrong percentage of battery my airpods pro have, they keep showing up as uncharged even though they’re fully charged and the case shows around 25% when it actually has 72%.
