How can I delete an icloud account?
I have gone from two lines to one and need to delete the icloud account associated with the line I disconnected.

Assuming that by “iCloud Account” you really mean “AppleID” …
… the no-longer-needed AppleID can be deactivated - or permanently deleted - by logging in (with the AppleID to be deleted) at: https://privacy.apple.com/
If you choose “delete” pay VERY close attention to the warnings as deletion is irreversible and there is a very real risk of “activation locking” yourself out of your own devices.
