Has anyone figured out how to make phone calls with a WIRED headset with an Iphone, in this case the Iphone 14?Pro Max?
Unable to use wired headset to make phone calls on Iphone 14 Pro Max.
I use a wired headset to make phone calls. A Logitech H390.
It previously worked just fine with the Iphone 6 using an adaptor. But after upgrading to a newer model Iphone, I have spent YEARS trying to use a wired headset with my iphone, and never been able to do it.
The wired headset works 100% with every other app on the Iphone, both native and 3rd party. I can receive sound from the phone, and transmit sound to the phone from the headset using an adaptor.
However, once I use the actual phone app, the headset no longer works.
The H390 is a USB headset, but I experience the same problem with headsets that have two 3.5mm cables, (separate audio and Mic) or one 3.5mm that carries both audio and mic. Every other app on the Iphone works fine, EXCEPT the phone.
I have purchased dozens of adaptors trying to make this work. I even purchased the Apple Airpods Max headphones, thinking I could at least connect THEM to the Iphone with cable and use them as wired headset, WRONG. That doesn't work either.
There are hundreds of threads on here about people trying to accomplish the same thing, and thousands of threads online, so Apple clearly knows about the problem, they just don't seem to care enough to fix it. Either that or it is deliberate.
Now there are reports that the SAME problem occurs when you try to use a USB C headset to make a phone call with the new Iphone 15, every other app works fine, but the phone app will NOT work with any wired headsets.
It may be either a software or a hardware issue that Apple has intentionally implemented to prevent the use of wired headsets with Apple Iphones, however, anytime you call Apple customer service, they know nothing about it.
So has anyone figured out a way to use a wired headset to make phone calls with a modern Iphone? Preferably with a USB Headset like the Logitech H390?
If anyone has figured out how to solve this problem, PLEASE post the solution, because there are literally THOUSANDS of Iphone users trying to solve this problem, that appears to be an intentional "non compatibility" implemented by Apple for their own reasons.
I have tried EVERY adaptor Apple makes.
I have called Apple customer support over and over and OVER.
I have been working on the problem for years.
I have read THOUSANDS of online posts from people trying to find a work around to the exact same problem.
It seems like Apple just flat out refuses to address the problem.
