Unable to access Notes on iPhone

That's unfortunate. There is backdoor to get into locked notes. When you created the password, you were given the opportunity to create a locked notes password hint. Did you? The good news is you can guess as often as you want. The bad news is until you enter the correct password, the notes will remain locked. The password is encrypted on your iPhone and only there. Apple cannot help you get them open. Only you can open them with the correct password.

This may be an unfortunate lesson, but passwords can be extremely important to keep track of. I keep a little notebook in a safe place, with all my important passwords written down.

Hi there, for your situation you can(Note: This will help with future notes)

1.In the Settings app, tap Notes.

2.Then tap Password.Select the Notes account that you want to change, then tap Reset Password.

3.Enter your Apple ID password, then tap OK.

4.Tap Reset Password again.

5.Use your device passcode or enter a new password and password hint. Tap Done.

NO. What you provided will NOT get the Author into notes which were locked with a password they don't know. They can create a new locked notes password for future notes. But if they do not know the password for notes they locked, they can't open them or change the password to those notes without the correct password, which again, they have forgotten.

No worries. Its just that what you wrote doesn't exactly help the Author with their current situation, but yes, they can lock new notes with a new password for them.
