Getting Final Cut Pro on my 3 Macbook Pros

Hi all - very first question I have ever asked here (so be gentle).

I have 3 MacBook Pros and I want to use my legit copy of FCP on all 3 MBPs. I have the following MBPs: a 2020 16inch, a 2013 15inch, and a 2011 13inch MBP. I dont like to sell my old kit, so have placed the 2013 and 2011 at my parent's place, and my summer place. I know it is strange not to take my 2020 MBP wherever I go, but I often only travel with my iPad Pro and nothing else. I put my MBPs at my various locations in case I want to do some video editing and other laptop-specific work.

I have purchased a legitimate version of Final Cut Pro from the App Store. I have been able to install it on my 2020 and 2013. When I went to install it on the 2013, the app store said I needed an older version of FCP and offered it. Great - that's FCP on 2 of them but it won't let me download it to my 2011 MBP13inch - it just asks for a further payment.

Is this correct? or am I doing something not permitted?

Any help would be appreciated.

No. It should be available on all systems. Make sure you are logged into the App Store with the same Apple ID used to purchase it. Go to your purchased page rather than the Final Cut Pro page.

Which OS is on the 2011? I can’t text this but it’s possible the original 10.0.x is no longer available.

OK, a slight update: it's not a 2011, it's a mid-2012 MBP13 running 10.15.7

I still couldn't see FCP in the "Purchased Apps" section of the app store, so I tried the old "turn it off and on again" process by logging myself out of the store, and logging back in - and now I can see FCP. Trying to download it, it again says the latest FCP requires 13.xxx but I can download the last compatible version, which I am currently doing.

Many thanks to all for taking the time to respond. I very much appreciate it.

The Apple ID that you used to download FCP onto your 2013 MBP is the one to use as it obviously worked successfully.

If you are being asked to pay to download FCP on your 2011 MBP then this would suggest that you are not on your Purchased page.

Your Purchased page on the 2011 is ( most likely) accessed in a different manner to your other 2 MBPs.

The Purchased tag is at the top of the page.I think this is the case up to High Sierra.
